Bountiful gifts from Hubby!!

My Husband was away on a business trip this past week, he returned with goodies for me from Sally Beauty!! Four beautiful nail polishes and some hair product. The nail polishes are Spontaneous by China Glaze, Secret Peri-Wink-Le by China Glaze, Louvre This Pink by Finger Paints and Leaf Me Alone by...Nina Ultimate Pro? I had a lot of trouble reading the name on that one. I tried them all out right away, and the colours are all gorgeous! While I always read mixed reviews about China Glaze, I had wonderful experiences with them personally, and these colours are no exception. Spontaneous is a lovely purple with a creme finish...I love cremes, I feel they have a very professional manicure perfect finish compared to more metallic finishes ...Spontaneous goes one beautifully, is very pigmented and the colour is true to the bottle. Secret Peri-Wink-Le is as the name suggests a very pleasant lavender blue, a creme finish again and good quality. Louvre This Pink is probably my favourite of the whole lot! I have not tried Finger Paints polishes before, and I must say I am very impressed! The pink is an amazing creme finish perfectly summery coral pink, and the quality is amazing and highly pigmented, which always wins big points with me. I tend not to judge polishes by length of wear as I am a recovered nail biter and my nails reject polish of any quality due to the fact that they end up in my mouth more often than I'd like alas old habits die hard :(
how ever I do find that when I wear them on my toes, China Glaze polishes hold up extremely well, we shall see how Finger Paints compare when I try them on the piggies in the future.
Lastly Leaf Me Alone...this was not as pigmented as the other two and on the first coat I was thinking it wouldn't turn out too well, but the second coat went on well and the colour, a beautiful spring green is great! I can't wait to wear it on my toes for a fun summer manicure.

Welcome!!

Hi Everyone
I decided to start a blog as a companion to my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/housekitty711. I started my channel for real in March 2010 with my first makeup video entitled Alice In Wonderland Inspired Makeup Looks. I was super excited to see the new Tim Burton movie so I spent one morning at home trying a few of the fantastic looks of the movie, I had a ton of fun recreating Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway's White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter's Red Queen. I had just gotten out of bed and was still in my pyjamas but I decided to post the video anyway. That was the start, I now have 30 wonderful subscribers and 16 videos ranging from tutorials to tags, hauls and monthly favourites. I would love for this blog to be a place where I can talk about all things makeup, do reviews, post pictures and share my thoughts and musings with you all :)
Please check out my channel on youtube and subscribe if you like what you see. I love all my subscribers and I appreciate you all so very much! Thanks for everything!
